The Emporialist: Pupe, eşti un blogger de modă cunoscut. Ce te-a determinat să începi?
Pupe Pemika Thiravanitkul, administrator Stellar Balcony: Mulţumesc pentru cuvintele amabile, sunt de fapt un blogger începător care este foarte pasionat de modă. Am creat blogul “Stellar Balcony” pentru a descoperi lumea modei prin dragostea mea pentru călătorii. Vreau să inspir oamenii cu poveşti care mi-au influenţat personal simţul modei, fie că este vorba despre un loc vizitat de mine sau de o experienţă pe care am avut-o. Încerc să relatez aceste poveşti prin cadre frumoase şi cu ţinute speciale pentru fiecare călătorie în parte. Din Thailanda fiind, sunt mândră de mulţi designeri locali, uimitori şi talentaţi şi sper să aduc mai multă atenţie internaţională binemeritată asupra acestor brand-uri.



E: Din ce îţi extragi subiectele şi ce influenţă are civilizaţia thailandeză asupra lor?
PPT: Am constatat că mulţi oameni nu sunt obişnuiţi să se exprime prin modă. Acest lucru este valabil mai ales în Thailanda, unde multe şcoli solicită uniformă şcolară. Crescând, am avut tendinţa să aleg o “zonă de siguranţă” urmărind tendinţele de la celebrităţi sau de la grupul meu de prieteni. Nu m-am simţit confortabil să mă remarc într-o mulţime sau să merg împotriva a ceea ce era considerat la modă. Dar, ca să-ţi spun adevărul, acele norme sociale au devenit cea mai mare sursă de inspiraţie a mea pentru a mă îmbrăca şi a-mi exprima în sfârşit personalitatea! Mă simt liberă să aleg tot ceea ce vreau să port, să realizez propria mea exprimare. Aşa că stilul meu nu este fix, aleg ceea ce simt că vreau să port în situaţia respectivă.



E: Ştiu că vrei ca ţara ta să devină o destinaţie de top în fashion. Care este contribuţia ta şi cum poţi influenţa?
PPT: Aceasta este o întrebare deosebită. Ai auzit de un vechi proverb chinezesc: “O călătorie de o mie de mile începe cu un singur pas“? Cred că blogul “Stellar Balcony” este vehiculul meu magic în această mare călătorie de a-mi urma visul. S-ar putea să nu meargă la fel de repede, dar se apropie încet. Am pus mult timp şi efort în imaginea mea şi calitatea conţinutului şi încerc să-l fac accesibil şi celor din afară Thailandei prin publicarea în ambele limbi: thailandeză şi engleză. Este un vis măreţ şi cred că cel mai important lucru este să-l pot face să fie autentic pentru cititorii mei, în speranţa că ei pot găsi o conexiune între scris şi stilul meu.



E: Care sunt pentru tine ţările reprezentative pentru fashion şi unde visezi cel mai mult să ajungi?
PPT: Inima mea este o aventură, iar sufletul meu este cu moda. Combin moda împreună cu locuri unice pe blogul meu. Am multe de bifat pe lista mea în viaţa asta, cum ar fi să particip la festivalul Burning Man în Nevada SUA, să văd luminile Aurorei Boreale în Islanda, să fac o excursie pe jos la Machu Picchu în Peru, să vizitez Ladakh în India şi pădurea tropicală Amazon Rain în America de Sud!


E: Cum vezi colaborarea pe termen lung dintre blogul tău şi The Emporialist şi ce aşteptări ai, ca rezultate concrete?

PPT: The Emporialist este o cunoscută revistă de modă a străzii (street fashion) din România care îşi deserveşte cititorii cu tendinţe recente, ştiri şi stiluri din modă. Văd colaborarea dintre The Emporialist şi blog-ul meu “Stellar Balcony” ca pe o modalitate ce permite publicului nostru să descopere noi stiluri interesante pentru ei.

 The Emporialist: Pupe, you are a well-known fashion blogger. What was your motivation to start the blog?

Pupe Pemika Thiravanitkul, curator of Stellar Balcony: Thank you for your kind words, I’m really just a beginner blogger who is very passionate about fashion. I created Stellar Balcony to discover the world of fashion through my love of travelling. I want to inspire people with stories that have personally influenced my sense of fashion, whether it is somewhere I visited or an experience I had.  I try to narrate these stories with beautiful settings and outfits for that particular journey. Being from Thailand, I am proud of the many amazing and talented designers, and I hope to bring more international attention to these well deserving brands.



E: Where do you find your inspiration and what is the influence of Thai culture?

PPT: I found that many people are not accustomed to expressing themselves through fashion. This is especially true in Thailand where many schools require a school uniform.  Growing up, I tended to choose a “safe zone”, following trends from celebrities or my own group of friends.  I wasn’t comfortable standing out in a crowd or going against what was considered in style.  But, to tell you the truth, that social norm has become my biggest inspiration to dress up and finally express myself! I feel liberated to choose whatever I want to wear, to make my own statement! So my style is not fixed, I choose what I feel like wearing in given the situation.



E: I know it’s your dream that Thailand will become a top fashion destination in the future. What is your contribution and how can you influence that?

PPT: That’s a great question. Have you heard an old Chinese proverb that goes, ‘A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step.’ I think Stellar Balcony is my dream vehicle in this big journey of chasing my dream. It might not go as fast, but it’s getting closer slowly. I put a lot of time and efforts into QC my image and content quality, and try to make it accessible to those outside Thailand by publishing in both Thai and English. It’s a big dream, and I think the most important thing I can do is to be genuine to my readers and hopefully they can find a connection in my writing and style.



E: What are the most representative countries in fashion and where are you dreaming to travel?

PPT: My heart is adventure, and my soul is vogue. I combine fashion and unique places together in my blog. I have a lot to check off on my bucket list, such as attending Burning Man Festival in Nevada, USA, see the Aurora lights in Iceland, hike Machu Picchu in Peru, visit Ladakh in India, and the Amazon Rain forest in South America!



E: How do you see the collaboration between your blog and The Emporialist on long term and what are your expectations for concrete results?

PPT: The Emporialist is a highly renowned Romanian street fashion magazine that constantly serves their readers with fresh fashion trends, news, and styles. I see a collaboration between the Emporialist and Stellar Balcony as a way to allow our current audience to discover new and interesting styles to them.
